Note:  I have decided to make this Part I of the Final.  That way you take it seriously and write a good paper.

1.  Go over prompt.  Page 54 of CSU Packet.
2.  Begin outlining your essay.  You can use any notes and the entire packet as a resource.
3.  We begin writing tomorrow.  You will have a complete, proof-read and edited paper on Friday to turn in with the rest of the CSU Journal.

Prewrite:

1.  Write your thesis first.  Subject + Opinion
2.  Plan your paragraphs:  Intro (Use Inverted Triangle Format).  Mention article and author here.
                                       Body 1:  Rites
                                       Body 2:  Rights
                                       Body 3:  Responsibilities
                                       Body 4:  Counter Argument (OR you can counter within each above)
                                       Close:  Bigger Picture
3.  Find at least 3 quotes from the article to include in body.  (To get an A you must use 3 quotes).

2.  Get into 15 groups (figure it out.....)
3.  Activity 10.  Get assigned paragraphs.  For each paragraph, write its purpose and one sentence summary.
4.  When you have it, come to this computer and type the one sentence summary.
5.  Present.
6.  Complete Activity 11 in Journal.  Rites, Rights, and Responsibilities (those are the three sections).

Rite:  A custom or Ritual that a person does at a certain age.
Rights:  Something that someone is allowed to do by LAW.
Responsibilities:  Something that someone SHOULD DO morally.

4. Tonight, while the intro and editing suggestions are on your mind, make necessary changes. You are now done with Part 1 of the research paper.
5. Begin reading through your sources. Find information for the Part 2 section of your paper: The Biographical Info. Highlight and Annotate.

Objective: The students will see an awesome example of an anecdotal intro. They will then write their own anecdotal intro TODAY. They will type it up and have it ready to use tomorrow in class. It is worth 50 points tomorrow only. NO LATE POINTS WILL BE GIVEN!!!!
