Last Day for Q3 Study Form

Objective:  The students will complete the Q3 Study Form and be ready to write the district writing test.

1.  Sign up at the main computer for Turnitin.com.  When you are done with the Q3 Study Form you must submit it through the program for a grade.  If it is more than 20% from any other source, it will fail.  Twenty percent is average with quotes and format that will be similar.

2.  Complete Form and submit.

3.  Print out form to turn in tomorrow.  On top, write your percentage from Turnitin.com.

I am thinking that we will write the essay on Friday.  I have a few more things that I want to discuss with you about he writing and passing of the essay.

Q 3 Study Form

Objective:  The students will complete the Q 3 Study Form for the District Writing Test.

1.  If you turned in your packet it is graded in the back of the room.  If you need to turn it in, do that now.

2.  If you missed yesterday's test, take it now.

3.  Complete the Q3 Study Form on your device.  It must be complete.  If you don't work on it in class (in front of me) I will ask you to turn it in NOW.  In other words, I am not going to give you credit for just copy and pasting someone else's work as your own.

Note:  You will be putting this through Turn It In.com so if you cut and paste from Sparknotes, Schmoop, Fuzzy Bear, Iliketocheat.com, or whatever...  It will catch you.

Not a good start to the last week before break. My main computer just started smoking... and died. Moral: Don't smoke!

Objective:  The students will complete group work on Grendel Chapter 9 then read 10.

Get your new book.  I will not be photocopying it for you.  And the library doesn't have copies.  But this is a "College" class, so you can be like college students... and get your own.

Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.  I got it for $9.00 on Amazon.  Need it by return of Thanksgiving Break.

1.  Yesterday's presentations in both classes were very good.  There were only a few mistakes and each class has discussed them and shown how to clean them up.  So grading on this next batch of presentations will be harder if the same errors are made.

Essay Thesis Writing and Outlining

Objective:  The students will create a solid thesis statement and outline for an essay on Eveline.
