Today we started our novel that we will read as a class. It is called The Good Earth and was written by Pearl Buck.

1) Power Point into of the author and novel.
2) "The Parable of Plain People" by Pearl Buck as an intro story into the novel. Active read the story for tomorrow's class.

Today we started CAT6 Activities again for the 2nd quarter. Then we turned in the Theme Poems from Last Night.

The last thing we did was read "The Secret Lion" aloud and briefly went over the two projects that we will do with the story.

There is no homework tonight.

Good Morning Class! I bet you miss me huh!? Please make sure to respect the sub and follow all class rules.

Today we start Chapter 3 of our Literature Anthology. Our first assignment is in the interactive reader. It is titled "By the Waters of Babylon" and you need to do all margin activities as well as end activities. If it is not finished in class, do it as homwork.

Today we did a group activity after CAT6 #8 which focused on Denotations and Connotations of words. Then we saw a clip from the movie called "Mystery, Alaska" (good movie, watch it sometime!). The group activity will be completed tomorrow with the presentations of group poems and posters.

Remember book reports are due November 2 and I can't take late papers!

Yesterday we read the short story called "Two Kinds" from the literature book. We discussed the characters and their motivations. It was a pretty long story so that was all we did. Homework was to work on your outside book. The book report is due November 2.
