Today:  Return books and devices to library.

Note:  Thanks to all of you for being great students and providing me with another year of wonderful memories.  While so many people talk crap about "the young people of today," I always call them out and say "BS."  You all have so much going for you and can make a difference in the world.  

Sorry this last quarter wasn't what I wanted or expected it to be.  BUT I really appreciate all of you! 

Feel free to use me as a reference for anything that you do in the future!

Day 158

Objective:  The students will look at two more pieces in preparation for the AP Test.

Note:  Students should report to the MPR at 7:15 am on Wednesday 5/3.  The test will begin at about 8 once we get everyone checked in. Only Victor Castillo will report to Guidance at 7:30 for an extended time administration.

1.  Grab the prompts and you have 20 minutes to read and plan out two essays.

2.  Catcher in the Rye Unit due on Friday.  That is the last assignment of the year.

Objective:  The students will discuss Q3 Essays and Catcher.  Then look at a Q2 Poetry Prompt.

Finally!!!  It's great to be back!  Ms. Martinez and I will team teach the rest of the year.  I will be back Monday and Tuesday and she will teach the rest.  Thanks so much for making my time away restful. 

Get your Q3 Essays that you wrote.  Let's discuss:

1.  Know the name of the author.     2.  Punctuate the title correctly!     3.  If the prompt asks for one character, only write about one.      4.  DO NOT SUMMARIZE!   5.  Dissect the prompt!  Underline KEY WORDS and USE THEM!!!     6.  Don't write "U.T."  That is an abbreviation that other AP Readers may not know.    7.  Write neatly!

2.  Discuss Catcher:  Most important event in Holden's life.    Complex Character.   Symbols.   Author's Purpose.

 3.  Q2 Prompt:  "Plants"
