·    White:  Purity and innocence; live, love.  Sometimes death (snow is white)

·    Orange:  Midday; high noon of existence, harvest, pride, ambition.

·    Black:  No color, sorrow, evil, darkness, depression.  Nothingness, void, corruption.

·    Gray:  Mediocrity, sickness.

·    Red:  Sexual passion, anger,

·    Green:  youth and vigor, growth and fertility. Hope, change, life, and inexperience.

·    Yellow:  Sickness, weakness

·    Purple:  royalty, riches, quickening of life.

·    Blue:  Truth, intellect, dawn and awakening.  Life.

Objective:  The students will discuss Chapter 3 and read the first story.

1.  All personal statements are graded and in the folder in the back.  Get them.  If you have any questions, see me.  You should start rewriting/fixing them and turn back in.  YOU MUST STAPLE OLD ONE TO THE NEW ONE!  I don't want to have to read them all word for word again.

2.  Summer Work Presentations:  Let's do four.  All students not presenting will listen respectfully (no phones) and ask questions and discuss.  Get a paper out for notes.

Objective:  The students be introduced to AP Lit.

Good Morning!!  Our first real day of learning (I hope)

1.  Roll and Intro (Supplies:  Get yourself about 12 file folders to keep all of our units in.  Paper, Pens.  All work will be written in pen at all times)

     Multiple Choice:  45% of the test score grade:  55 questions/ 1 hour

     Three Essays: 55% of test score grade:  2 hours:  Q1= Poetry     Q2= Prose     Q3= Open Source 

5.  Classwork:  Q1 Prompt:  Read and analyze just the prompt.  What are the key words?  What MUST YOU DO IN THE ESSAY TO PASS?

 

Write an intro paragraph to read aloud if called.

Day 2

Objective:  The students will learn the tool that we will use for literature analysis.

I told you that we are going to start slowly...  well this is day two of three. We will start getting a little bit into things on Thursday and Friday.

1.  Sit anywhere and roll.  Get out College Worksheet.  I will collect.

2.  Supplies Needed For Class:

   a)  A binder or multiple folders to keep all of out notes and units organized within.

   b)  Lined Paper

   c)  Blue or Black Pens

   d)  Lots of colors of highlighters

   e)  Perrine's (leave at home for now.  I am trying to get a class set, but we may have to bring them).

3.  Our class website:  warrenmlk.com.  You will use this if you are absent.  Never ask me, "Mr. Warren, what did we do yesterday?"  I won't tell you.  This is a college level class, so I will treat you like college students.

4.  Copy TTSTCANDI board onto sheets of paper for future use at home.
