Objective:  The students will discuss their research projects as they pertain to their reading.

1.  Get out your TTSTCANDI:  I want to see it.  And if you don't have a UT, I will not sign my beautiful signature.

2.  MC Poetry "Spring."  Try hard!  The real one is coming!!

It Is Finally Fall!

Objective:  The students will analyze a great poem about Life (and picking fruit).

1.  Let's go over the tone terms (and get checked off)

2.  TTSTCANDI "The Weight of Sweetness."

3.  Reading Test is Friday (if you ditch, you will not be able to make up the test).

Terms Day

Objective:  The students will define terms needed for this week's poem analysis.

1.  Discuss "She Dwelt..." and let me check it off.

2.  Complete Tone Terms and Lit Terms.  Due tomorrow.

Also:  I know that some of you are not reading.  The test/essay at the end for you all will be brutal.  And grade destruction right before Christmas.

Objective:  The students will complete two chapter outlines for class discussion tomorrow.

1.  Put together in order Perrine's Poetry Packet 1 and turn in.

2.  Get Perrine's Poetry Packet II Cover Sheet.

3.  Complete the first two chapter outlines.  Due tomorrow.  Unless you are not working.  Then now!

How is the reading going?

Objective:  The students will discuss the first reading section of their books.

1.  Get out your close read book.

2.  Get a test.  Complete it.  You can use your book.

3.  Get into book groups and discuss the reading.  What are you seeing?  What are some emerging UTs?  How is the author developing them?

4.  How id the UCR project going?

5.  Next Reading Section Due Nov. 22 (close reading and test)

1.  If you were here Friday, turn in your completed outline and terms for 10 points.  If you were not here, grab the Perrine's Poetry Unit 1 Cover Sheet.  You have lots to do today.  No you don't get an extra day!  You decided to take the day off.

2.  Complete the chapter outline for the second poetry chapter as well as the tone terms.

Congratulations. You have completed the initial prose units... Now on to Poetry!

Objective:  The students will outline a chapter and define some terms.

1.  Get your corrected work.  Or it goes in the trash.  And I will have a 100 point folder check on Monday.
