Objective:  The students will know important vocabulary to read the first act of the play.

1.  Get folders and pick up vocab sheet.
2.  Discuss Outside Book:  Due March 19.

3.  Complete Vocabulary Sheets.  Due today.

Tomorrow's 1 Minute 1 Slide Presentations:  Plutarch, Renaissance, The Globe, Elizabethan Actors,  Elizabethan Stage, Elizabethan Audience.

1 Power Point Slide (with title, graphic, bulleted facts, source) and 1 MLA page write up with Works Cited Page.

Finish STRONG!

Objective:  The students will earn 100 points for editing a peer's paper.  They will find all errors with the paper so that when it is turned in to be graded by Mr. Warren, it is perfect.

1.  Get peer edit sheet.
2.  Exchange papers.  Everyone who has a paper here needs to edit a paper.  If you don't have a paper here, you can't edit... and you can't get 100 points.

Tomorrow:  Turn in 1)  Final Perfect Draft.
                                 2)  Edited Copy (today's draft) with Peer Edit Sheet stapled to it.
                                 3)  All sources used and cited.

We begin our Caesar unit tomorrow.

3 weeks on this. It better be good!

Objective:  The students will use their time in class to put their paper together for final editing.

1.  Get out your Part 4 (Close and Works Cited) for 50 points.
2.  Today you will integrate all 4 parts into 1 document.

  • Make sure it is in the right order.  
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces between parts.
  • Make sure there is a header.
3.  Tomorrow you will bring in the complete paper for one last 50 points and final edit.

Friday You Will Turn In:
a)  Final Best Draft
b)  Final Edited Draft (so I can give an editing grade to your partner).
c)  All sources that you cited.  I want to see that you didn't plagiarize or use wikipedia.

Put Part 3 on your desk for points and editing.

1.  Get your folders and a handout of Part 4
2.  Discuss what you need to do in part 4
3.  Works Cited info and example of how to use

Part 4 is due tomorrow.

Objective:  The students will write the most important part of the research paper.

Note:  Tomorrow, the Superintendent of the district will be in class.  I NEED all of you on task!

1.  It is my goal for you to complete this entire paper in class.  I have given 2 weeks of class time for it (something that I completed myself in about 1 1/2 hours).

2.  So I get a little pissed off when I see kids doing math, playing games and other stuff and NOT working on this assignment.

3.  I want great papers.  I am giving you time to write GREAT papers.  I am going to grade them as if I gave you a lot of time to do GREAT papers.

Objective:  The students will use this time in class to find more information, read and highlight, or write their Part 2 section of their paper.

1.  Get folders.
2.  Watch and learn how to insert a Header on your document (using Google Docs)
3.  Work.  Use your time wisely!  Don't make me regret the "no homework" this weekend idea.

Part 1 Done.... Now Part 2

Objective:  The students will Peer Edit Part 1 of the Research Paper, then see an awesome example of what part 2 looks like.  Then they will start writing it!

1.  Get folders.  Get the sample of Part 2.
2.  Pair up with someone.  Pick someone who will be honest, truthful, and not shy about telling it as it is.  If it sucks, you want to know now instead of later.
3.  Go over the sample of Part 2
4.  Begin Part 2, using your source material from research.

Write Your Intro

Objective:  The students will see an example of, and then write an anecdotal intro for their research paper.

1.  Get your folders.  Put your outside book on your desk.  Today you get points for having it approved.  Go over 100 points Active Reading requirements.  (highlights, comments, chapter end notes, character page)
2.  Get the sample intro handout:
3.  Read it, then discuss.
4.  Write your own anecdotal intro (in MLA format) for your paper.  This will be due on Thursday for 50 points OR NO POINTS.  Typed, edited, printed, and ready to share via the computer.

Today you will need to find information on your person for part 2 and 3.  Try to get a magazine or newspaper article.  Use Ebsco Search in the library for this.  Remember you must have a newspaper or magazine (periodical) source for this paper!!
