1. I am done grading first period's Q3 Othello Essay and I am seriously perplexed by some of you. I wonder what you have been listening to over the last 7 months. Not me obviously.
Yesterday's prompt:
Many works of literature contain a character that intentionally deceives others. This character's dishonestly may be intended to help or to hurt. Such a character, for example, may choose to mislead others for personal safety, to spare someone's feelings, or to carry out a crime.
Choose a novel or play in which a character deceives other. Then in a well written essay, analyze the motives for that character's deception and discuss how it contributes to the meaning of the work as a whole.
Do not merely summarize.
2. MC Practice: "Getting Old"
Objective: The students will complete a Q3 Essay using Othello as the source.
Note: Get Catcher in the Rye by next week.
1. Turn in Othello Packet. Make sure that you have 15 Scenes highlighted for easy counting and all blanks filled in.
2. Get handout.
3. Type your essay.
