Transcripts for College: We have a new system called Parchment.
-
On 3/1 all senior
students will be receiving an email about creating an account with Parchment (a
transcript service). The email will include a You Tube video link.
-
Make sure to follow
direction e.g. correct bdays, addresses, registration code etc. *errors
will result in multiple accounts and trouble with requesting transcripts.
-
Students need a
personal email associated with their Parchment account, since their RUSDLearns
expires in August of 2018.
-
Parents should not
create accounts on the behalf of their student; leads to multiple accounts and
complications.

Thursday, February 22, 2018
Objective: The students will read and analyze their first play.
Discussion: It is time to address "the elephant in the room." What is our plan if there is a "fire drill" or some situation on campus?
a) If the alarm sounds. Don't automatically start moving toward the door.
b) I will lock the door. I will go out to see if everything is OK. If everything looks OK, then we will go out. BUT, we don't need to rush to be the first to the stairs, quad, or the field. Heck, we can be last.
c) If there is a situation, know what your options are: hide or fight. Look for something that will help you if you need to protect yourself: Bats, Hot water, Fire Extinguisher, etc.
1. Get Chapter 2 Outline Checked for Points.
2. Chapter 2 Discussion and PP
3. Read and analyze The Sandbox. Complete all questions. You may want to watch the play on Youtube. I could not find a suitable production to show to the whole class, but if you want to watch it, it may help you understand the overall tone and meaning of the play for your analysis.

Here's the poem:
When You Are Old
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
