Day 26

Objective:  The students will write an intro and body paragraph with a partner.

PUT YOUR GRENDEL BOOK ON YOUR DESK! 

1.  Go over Miss Brill reading and my PP slides.

2.  Discuss how to properly use quotes in your AP Essays.  Take Notes.

3.  Open up the doc that I put in your GC.   

4.  With a partner, share your doc.  Then the two of you write a great AP Intro paragraph and one body paragraph for the following prompt.

Read below the following passage from Katherine Mansfield’s story “Miss Brill.”  Then write a careful analysis of how the narrator reveals the complex character of Miss Brill.  You may emphasize whichever devices (tone, imagery, point of view) that you find most significant.


Your thesis statement should be something like this:

Mansfield uses ________________ and ______________ to present Miss Brill as a very complex character who is ________________ and ______________, living a life that is _________________________.
