Day 101

Objective:  The students will discuss outlined chapter and then analyze a poem.

1.  Get out the chapter outline.

2.  Discuss Chapter PP

3.  "When You Are Old" analysis.  Use the checklist.

Day 100

Objective:  The students will discuss musical devices, then outline the chapter on rhythm.

1.  Go over Chapter 11 Power Point

2.  Outline Chapter 12

3.  Do the rest of the vocab.

Day 99

Objective:  The students will outline the next chapter of Perrine's and complete 1/2 the terms.

1.  Get the new unit cover sheet and a Perrine's book.

2.  Complete the first chapter outline and 1/2 the terms.

Day 98

Objective:  The students will teach each other the two Blake poems.\

Note:  Have fun at Midwinter.  Be safe and don't do stupid stuff.

1.  Team presentation.  20 minutes max each.

2.  Turn in Poetry Packet 2.

Day 97

Objective:  The students will make a slideshow presentation to "teach" their poem to the other group.

1.  Tomorrow you will teach your assigned poem to the other side of the class.  You will make a slide show of YOUR group's interpretation of the poem.  YOU WILL NOT PRESENT what other people think (in other words do not use internet analysis).

2.  You will have 15-20 minutes to do the following:

    a)  Break down the poem line by line doing the checklist.

    b)  Discuss what you would write about in an AP Q1 Essay about how the author achieved his purpose. 

    c)  All member will be ready to answer questions from the other side of the class.  If they stump any member, they get some of your points.  In other words, you lose points, they gain points.  Let's see who wins.  25 points to grade.
