Objective: Students will discuss key topics of the book.
1. Symbols Analysis handout
2. A student volunteer will lead the class in discussions about these topics:
a) The Narrative structure of the book: Point of View and why it's important. Is it reliable?
b) The syntax and the diction: What is it and why important
c) Who is Holden literally talking to in the book?
d) Holden's view of other people and the irony of it.
Student volunteer leader will get automatic participation points, everyone else must speak at least twice to get points.
3. Read Chapter 3 and answer questions
